The Iowa City Nurses Honor Guard provides a solemn, vital service, honoring nurses at the end of their professional journey. Our partnership focused on crafting an intentional visual language that mirrors the heart of service found in a nursing career. We followed a clear process, beginning with a primary palette of navy, red, and white—drawn from the traditional nursing cape and uniform. To add depth and warmth, we established a secondary palette of gold and green.

Once the color foundation was set, we curated iconography reflecting the guard's rituals: the Nightingale lamp, the white rose, and the distinctive cape. These elements were woven into a final mark anchored by the silhouette of Iowa, grounding the organization in the community it serves. This structured approach ensured the brand was an expert extension of their mission before the logo was ever finalized.
